TEMAZCAL

The temazcal is an ancient ceremony, traditional in Center and North America (espacially in Mexico, the United States and Canada), which consists of a ritual steam bath created by pouring water over heated volcanic rocks, imbuing participants with a greater physical, mental, emotional and spiritual strength.

Here, we perform chants and petitions inside a structure similar to an igloo, built with willow or cane branches. This medicinal steam acts as a purifier for our body. This is a unique experience in which we share witht he four elements (water, fire, air and earth).

The Raíces de la Tierra temazcal comes from the heritage of Medicine Man  Raymundo Tigre Pere, who has been spreading temazcal medicine in different spaces of the southern areas of the United States since the 70's,  introducing mixed populations regardless of their ethnic origins to this practice.

After years of spiritual work with the Diné (Navajo) and Sioux (Sicangu Lakota) peoples, Reymundo has been tasked with the responsibility of performing this intercultural medicinal ritual in order to activate it and make it a reality.
